Throughout the year we grow a number of our own vegetables, fruit and herbs, at the moment we are growing our own tomatoes, garlic chives and mandarins.
A handy tip from local fruit market.
Tom (our local fruit shop owner) mentioned some TIPS that when you pick your fruit and vegetables from your garden, if you have used spray or powder to keep bugs off.
Soak them in some bicarbonate of soda 2-3 tablespoons, water in a large saucepan or sink for 5 minutes, this removes impurities and the impurities from the tap water.
Rinse and store and enjoy what u have grown, fresh picked vegetables and fruit are the best.
Tom is 4th generation owner of his shop, sadly closed as Coles supermarket moved in.
We should support our local shops.
