Happy Australia Day

I know I am a little bit behind the eight ball on this one, but its been a hectic week with a short week back at work last week so I just haven’t had a chance to write this post. How was your Australia Day did you have a picnic or a BBQ, was it sunny or wet?

After a steaming hot Sunday where it was in the mid 30’s and we were all trying to stay cool, Monday was a whole other story.

Sydney was a white wash, so much rain, well it was on the coast anyway, it just did not let up. We still had to have the BBQ but no rain was going to stop that. We had planned on having a little sleep in since all weekend we had been up early. But to my surprise that was not going to happen, next thing I know the home phone is ringing, and I had to jump out of bed and run to our lounge room, making sure I didn’t trip over any obstacles on the way or kick my big toe (which has happened a million times).

Now I was up and awake, I can never go back to sleep once I am up.  And it was one of those days you could just hide under the doona all day, listening to the rain.

John and I decided to have a BBQ at home, since trekking out in the rain really didn’t interest either of us. And what is more Australian than having good old sausages and onions on a roll.
