Brunch at Dee Why Beach

I feel so very grateful that I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, it is such a gorgeous spot and so many places you can go locally and enjoy. I am lucky to also have some really nice girlfriends that I can catch up with for a bite to eat and catch up on all the gossip.

Last weekend on Saturday I had plans to meet up with a girlfriend for brunch at Dee Why Beach. I love Dee Why it was one of the first places I lived when I moved out of home at 17, so will always have a special place in my heart and many memories.

Only a short 15 min drive from where I live, parking can sometimes be chaotic especially in the summer months, but this weekend it wasn’t too bad. I unfortunately have not updated our council parking sticker on my car, so ended up paying for parking as I did not want to risk getting a parking fine.

I arrived a little early so went for a walk along Dee Why, such a great spot to go for a picnic or get together, they have a great park for the kids to play in.  Dee Why Beach was one of the places I started of surfing when I was a teenager, I can recall many times being hassled out in the surf for being a girl, luckily these days that does not seem to happen like it did back then.

Dee Why beach has some fantastic cafes and restaurants on the beachfront, we decided to eat at On Shore Cafe Restaurant  reasonably priced and the food is delicious.

I had bacon and eggs with grilled tomato and hash brown, my girlfriend had fruit salad and yogurt. Great Service and fast as well. it’s always so lovely to catch up with girlfriends, especially when life gets in the way and you don’t get a chance to do it as often as you like.

I even had a voucher so we got a discount on the meal (bonus)!

Do you have a favourite cafe you visit for breaky? Have you been to Dee Why Beach?

    • I know nothing like going to the beach, so cold here at the moment I am missing it as well, thanks for dropping by.

  1. What a beautiful spot to visit, and that is such a great play area for kids. I have to admit that any more, if a park doesn’t have a good play area, I’m hesitant to utilize it.
